Produce a new complex weldment without prototyping.

The customer sold a product with a new feature. Concept drawings of a 750 lb. complex weldment had been developed, but no actual prototype or parts had been produced.

D&S worked with the customer to develop the parts to fit typical welding and machining standards. D&S designed and built the necessary fixtures, tooling and functional gages for the first run and production quantities.

The completed machine was delivered to the end user and field tested. Only a few minor modifications were required, resulting in a successful, yet unconventional, product launch.
